Bude Jazz Club - our Ace In The Hole?! ...
How we like playing here! It may be a long haul for some of us (especially for this Blogger, living as he does in north-east Somerset, not to mention his car parked on a sloping drive under a foot of snow!) but it's always worth the effort, thanks to the splendid audiences we get, the warm welcome, the fine venue with its friendly staff, our complimentary interval drinks, and (of course!) the legendary Bude dancing contingent! All these attributes add up to visits which we never fail to enjoy. Hopefully, the audience feel the same way! We count ourselves very lucky to have had three visits to the Falcon in around eight months, given that we were here at the jazz club back in June last year, and again for the Festival in August.
And how about a word of appreciation for John Noddings on banjo and guitar, doing a sterling job of depping for our old mate Eddie Edwards! Eddie is currently hospitalised, and sorely missed, but promises to be back in action as soon as the medics have finished with him!
Incidentally, it seems that the jazz club's wise and efficient management team have asked us to return sooner rather than later! Did we do something right for once?! Or was it just that the ladies simply cannot resist Hamish's matching socks? ...
Thanks again for the invitation - hope to see you all at our Bude Jazz Festival gigs in August, if not before!
